And while adding Black Ops 3’s popular Reaper robot to Blackout is an example of great fan service, locking it behind the Black Ops Pass is downright disappointing. It is a pity that Activision offers them for a fee at a time when most publishers and developers are choosing the path of free for the new multiplayer maps. These maps and the new zombie experience are of excellent quality and any Black Ops 4 player would love to play them. This content adds two new multiplayer maps and a new zombie experience with Kiefer Sutherland, Charles Dance, Helena Bonham Carter and Brian Blessed in the cast. Multiplayer Map Pack 1, which is part of the Black Ops Pass, came out in what looks like some sort of stealth launch after a first version was released in Australia the previous day. I’m still puzzled by Activision’s decision to split the Call of Duty audience in half, who has and who hasn’t on opposite sides of a seemingly impenetrable line drawn by the publisher.

The patch introduces significant balance changes, and the new season called Operation Absolute Zero makes the tedious grind needed to progress through the different levels of the Black Market more accessible and with better rewards. I’m playing Black Ops 4 with all of this enabled and it’s a great upgrade. The last season has started for the PlayStation 4 version and Activision has released the first premium DLC after a leak occurred the day before.
